There have been lots of books about the horror genre, the individuals who directed or wrote tales of horror that have scared us for decades. There are many names that come to mind, but if you want the best there is three that have completely changed the face of horror not just in film, but in books as well.
As a supporter to the Independent filmmaker, I am also a full supporter to the Independent writer as well. This time, I am bringing your attention to a young author who has jumped into the horror genre with both feet, Joseph Maddrey and the book, Beyond fear: Reflections on Stephen King, Wes Craven, and George A. Romero. The chances of a young writer having the opportunity to do a book about not just one ‘legend of horror’, but three is pure luck! This book is full of horrifying treats, but before we get to that, let’s learn a little more about its author, Joseph Maddrey.
The 12th edition of Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest, the major Italian Film Festival about horror genre cinema, will take place in Ravenna (Italy) from 25th October to 1st November 2014 (Halloween period). The Festival will propose the International Competition For Feature Films; and premieres & special events which will make Ravenna, for one week, Italian capital of horror cinema.
I have always been a fan of biography themed films. Movies like Sweet Dreams, The Doors, Amadeus, and others simply fascinated me. This film is about the fall and rise of the greatest soul singer, amazing entertainer, and the “Godfather of Soul”, James Brown. What I loved about this film is how they mixed it all up.

One of those sequels is the third installment to the Action-Packed franchise, The Expendables. The Marvel comic book superheroes have been dominating the box office for quite awhile now. Everything from Iron Man to Captain America to The Avengers, but now, a new superhero film has been released like no other. When I first watched Guardians of the galaxy I couldn’t help but think about the old 1980′s Scifi Adveture/Comedy films like Ice Pirates, Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, & even Spaceballs, but Guardians of the galaxy is a lot better than those films.
This is the sequel to the surprise 2013 hit, The Purge. Set in the future of 2023, the government grants the public onenight to purge (all acts of violence is allowed including anarchy, robbery, and even murder) for 12hrs. Once the purge is finished, no crime is aloud. The government feels this purge helps control crime, lowers unemployment, and poverty levels.
Slasher is an american independent horror film written, produced and directed by Jonathan Rowan, featuring the talents of current and alumni Northern Kentucky University students. Slasher tells the story of a media production company by the name of Fresh Air Productionz, who’s employees are being stalked by an unforeseen individual.
Halloween, we know, is a feast day when all children, kids and adults love to wear a mask and enjoy the night … in different ways. This feast day becomes an excuse for a group of cheerleaders and jocks to gather in a farmhouse and start partying, but someone is looking at them behind an indian warrior mask. And there will be blood.
