Stephen King‘s short story, I am the doorway, was first published in 1971′s March issue of Cavalier magazine. It was latter published in King’s short story collection, Night Shift. The story is about a disabled astronaut who is exposed to a toxic chemical during their mission to Venus. The lead character has his hand bandaged, it itches him something terrible, and suddenly eyeballs appear on his body as “doorways”.
This third, and final film of the franchise, so they say, is the sequel to 2011′s, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, and 2014′s, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, both successful films, and this new film, is no exception.
This latest superhero film from MARVEL Studios, is still as exciting as the first, and is what’s being termed, you guessed it, a reboot of a reboot. The first Spider-man film was released in 2002, with Tobey Maquire, and two sequels followed in 2004, and 2007.
Davide Melini is an independent filmmaker that has proven time after time his passion for filmmaking. With each new film his vision becomes clearer, and the subject matter even more entertaining, and more intense than the last. Davide has been writing and directing since 2006. It was his short film, The Puzzle, that began his career.
My first film review published in the Tri County Sun was, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, May 31, 2011. It seems befitting that 6 years later, to the date, I would be reviewing yet another in the series of these films. Once again, Johnny Depp returns to the high seas as Captain Jack Sparrow in, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, is the 15th film in the MARVEL STUDIOS Universe, and once again directed by James Gunn. With his new film we find our rag-tag team of humans, aliens, a tree, and a raccoon, all back to kick alien butt, and save the universe!
Stephen King, known around the world for over 40 years, as one of the “greatest writers of our time”, has brought us some of the most frightening, intriguing, and mind bending stories. Also, over 60 of these stories have been adapted for the big screen, as well as television.
There are so many wonderful, entertaining, and frightening Stephen King short stories. Stories such as, THE MIST, THE BODY, THE LIBRARY POLICEMAN, THE MONKEY, SURVIVOR TYPE, and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, just to name a few. Personally, I feel RAINY SEASON, is one of the top scary short stories King has ever written. When I heard I was getting the opportunity to see the adaptation of it, my expectations were very high , and I was NOT disappointed!
Disney has given us some of the greatest fairy tale films of all time, but generally they have always been animated…NOT ANYMORE! They have started a new trend, taking their most popular, and beloved animated films, and making them live! Disney brings us, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, in all its splendor and beauty, based on the animated original from 1991.
Our first superhero film of the year is a sequel, but also the “final” film of the series. LOGAN is the third, and final film of the WOLVERINE series, and the 10th in the X-MEN film franchise. The story is based on the fan favorite comic book, OLD MAN LOGAN.
